Online Photo Editing

What do you do with all the photos that you take with your digital camera?

Have you ever wished you had the time and software to do cool effects with your photos such as sepia-tones, creative collages, and photo books? Have you ever wanted to put your child's, or grandchild's, image on a magazine cover or newspaper headline? Have you ever wanted to put silly eyes, a strange nose, or an ugly mustache on your boss's face?

Online image editors can help you do all these things, and many more. Most of these creative effects can be done in as little as one or two clicks of a mouse.

We will be looking at 3 online image editors the Generator Blog http://generatorblog.blogspot.com/atorblog.blogspot.com/, BigHugeLabs http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/, and LetterJames.com http://www.letterjames.com/start.php?mod=image-personalization. These sites have different purposes, and capabilities. Some are meant for humorous effects, and some are meant to help you turn your photos into works of art.

The first site on this list is Generator Blog This site contains links to dozens of programs that allow you to do fun things with your digital images. Here are some examples.

Photo Editor.
PiZap is an online photo editor. This site allows you to take a photo and give the subject strange ears, eyes, hair, mustaches, and other parts. You can also blow their nose up to make them look huge, or perform similar distortions. The amazing thing is that these effects can be done with a few clicks of a mouse. Just choose the effect you want, drag it onto the photo, and resize it to fit.
The program merges the addition with the existing photo. You can alter it, as much as you like, and then save it as a new image, when you are finished.

Photo Notes
Turn your digital photos into Polaroid style prints in just one click. Then, add text in a variety of styles and colors. You can also add text balloons to put words into the subject’s mouth.

These are only 2 of the many fun programs to be found on this site.

I must, however, warn you. The programs from this site can be quite addictive, and you can waste a lot of hours trying them all out. You might want to pace yourself :D

Next, we will look at BigHugeLabs, a very powerful editor that works with flickr.
