Online Photo Editors - Big Huse Labs

Today, we will look at Big Huge Labs, http://bighugelabs.com/

This site allows you to upload your photos and create works of art. You can also pull images from flickr.com, or photobucket.com.

There are similarities to the blog geneator, such as polaroid style frames, black and white and sepia conversions, and basic editing. However, Big Huge Labs allows you to go beyond just creating the artwork in low resolution. Big Huge Labs will take your high resolution images, and allow you to order prints of various sizes.

For example, I created a motivational poster from one of my recent photos.

I could save a low resolution version to my computer, upload a low resolution version to flickr, or buy a print. Print prices were $15 for an 8x10 or $30 for a 16x20, both had free shipping.

Do you want to create a unique gift for a grandparent? How about a precut jigsaw puzzle from a picture of their grandchild? Take a look at this example:

All you have to do is choose the photo you want to create the puzzle from, and then click "Create". After the puzzle is created, you have the ability to order a 252 piece, boxed, puzzle. You can even have that puzzle shipped directly to the grandparent. How cool would it be for a grandparent to get a boxed jigsaw puzzle of one of their grandchildren in the mail?

There are many cool options on Big Huge Labs, including photo-cubes, mosaics, and calendars. One of my favorites is the framer. Take a look at this shot from a beach near Wilmington:

On your next vacation, you could be emailing your own, unique, postcards to your friends and family. No postage is required, and it arrives instantly.

This is only one of many sites that work with flickr to create works of art from your digital images. It doesn't cost anything to try these effects, and it is a lot of fun.
